One of my favorite authors died this weekend of a heart attack. He was 71 years old.
There was no single series that inspired Tasakeru more than Jacques’ Redwall. The second Redwall book, Mossflower, is still my favorite, and I’ve read it more times than I can count. A signed copy of The Pearls of Lutra is among my most prized possessions. I wrote music for the series as a school project in seventh grade. Redwall has been near and dear to my heart for more than fifteen years, and it seemed only fitting to have a badger in my cast as a tribute.
There’s no way I can express how thankful I am for Mr. Jacques and his works, so these words will have to do. If I’m ever even half as good an author as he was, I’ll have lived a worthy life. Good night, sweet prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
Eulalia.
